Wham Bam is what happens when thirty years of braaing meets a lifetime of laid-back wisdom, woodsmoke, and stories too good not to tell. He’s the kind of guy who calls everyone “dude” — from toddlers to traffic cops — and believes most of life’s problems can be worked out over a fire, some lamb chops, and a proper chat.
Part backyard alchemist, part barefoot philosopher, Wham Bam doesn’t do fancy food trends or fussy kitchen gadgets. He believes in real food, open flames, and the kind of connection you can’t fake — the kind you find standing around a fire while the coals settle and the stars come out.
When he’s not flipping boerewors with one hand and holding a cold one in the other, he’s writing for Kate & Ginger about the nutritional magic, mental health benefits, and soul-satisfying rituals of the South African braai.
He doesn’t claim to be an expert, just a guy who’s burnt enough meat to know when it’s perfect — and who’s more interested in how you’re doing than what you’re doing.
“Real food. Real fire. Real flavour. That’s health that makes sense, dude.”
