About

Welcome! I’m Kate, and I’m here to share the real, unfiltered version of the health and wellness journey. This space is not about a “perfect” journey that we so often see on social media; it’s about the raw and real process of healing, struggling, and learning along the way. I’ve faced more than my fair share of challenges, from chronic illnesses to mental health struggles, and everything else life has thrown my way. And now, after nearly two decades of personal experimentation and growth, I want to share my story with you—because I know I’m not the only one on this difficult, messy journey.

My Story

My health journey didn’t begin with an interest in wellness. It began with trauma—physical, mental, emotional. Over the years, I’ve battled everything from polycystic ovarian syndrome and an eating disorder, to multiple sclerosis, depression, and anxiety. I’ve experienced body dysmorphia, abusive relationships, and a devastating series of personal challenges that left me questioning my worth. But through it all, I’ve learned how to rebuild myself piece by piece, and I want to share that process with you.

In 2010, I started the long road of self-recovery. Since then, it’s been a constant learning curve. From finding what helps me manage my MS to navigating body changes due to perimenopause, weight loss, weight gain, and mental health, I’ve tried and tested countless approaches, faced setbacks, and celebrated the small victories. No solution is perfect, and I’m still figuring things out, but I’m here to show you that real healing doesn’t happen in a straight line. It’s messy, frustrating, and beautiful all at once.

What I believe in

I don’t pretend to have all the answers. I’m not a doctor, a guru, or a wellness expert. I’m just a regular person who has been through the ringer and lived to tell the tale. I’ve tried diets, workout plans, mindfulness techniques, and everything in between—sometimes with great results, and other times with utter failure. I’ve been open about what’s worked for me, and what hasn’t, because that’s the reality of wellness. It’s not about perfection; it’s about trying, failing, learning, and trying again.

This blog is a space for honesty. I don’t want to glamorize the difficulties we face. There will be no “perfect” photos here or unattainable advice. Instead, I’ll share the truths of my journey—the struggles, the triumphs, and all the experiences that have shaped me. I want this to be a place where you can find support, inspiration, and perhaps even a sense of relief knowing you’re not alone in what you’re going through.

Why I’m doing this

Like so many of you, I’ve been through a lot. I’ve struggled with physical and mental health issues that many would shy away from discussing. But I want to change that. I want people to see that no one’s journey is perfect, and no one’s struggles are invalid. We’re all just doing our best, and that’s enough.

Whether you’re battling chronic illness, weight management issues, mental health challenges, or just trying to figure out how to juggle it all, my hope is that this space can offer you some comfort, real-life advice, and a sense of community.

A community of realness

This blog isn’t just about me—it’s about all of us. I want to create a community that is supportive, understanding, and kind—where everyone feels comfortable sharing their stories, ideas, and struggles. A space where we can come together to share what’s worked, what hasn’t, and offer encouragement to one another. We’re all on our own paths, but together we can be stronger.

Let’s do this together. Share your thoughts, ask questions, and get involved in our Facebook group where we can support one another. Whether you need advice, a new wellness idea to try, or just someone to listen, you’re not alone in this journey.

My wellness philosophy

Wellness is a daily journey. There is no finish line, but there’s always something to work toward. You don’t have to be perfect—just take one step at a time, and celebrate the wins along the way.
